Discovering the mythical paths…
In spring 2016, IGN has released a brand new assortment of maps to discover the long-distance hikes GR. Thus, the Way to Santiago de Compostela (GR 65) and the way of Stevenson (GR 70) each have IGN maps, at a scale 1 : 100 000 (1 cm = 1 km) which allow the walker to view the track in just one glance.
To see the way of Saint James GR 65, three maps are necessary, with the following cutting up:
- From Le Puy-en-Velay to Moissac
- From Moissac to Roncevaux
- From Rocevaux to Compostela
The way of Stevenson GR 70 is, as for it, is available in one map from Le Puy-en-Velay to Alès.
Description and IGN maps
Apart from the track of the long distance hikes (GR), one can find information about the cultural and natural heritage, accommodations points, touristic information, possible renting of donkeys… Each map also owns a translation of the information in English, a real bonus!
Warning, the scale 1 : 100 000 isn’t enough to walk across a GR path, these maps are then mostly useful to have an overview of the itinerary, in addition to the guidebooks.

Each map is at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of 8.90 euros.
